Poll: So which movie should be OiG’s next post?

I have watched a ton of movies in the last few weeks and just cant make up my mind about which one to write up, next. So, how about chipping in with your views and telling me which one you’d like to see next on Old is Gold. Here are the movies:
1.Faraar (1955): The story of an extremist freedom fighter in 1940s India. Its written by the famous Hindi writer Krishan Chander and has Dev Anand and Geeta Bali in the lead.
2.Darling Lili (1970): A spy thriller set in WWI starring Rock Hudson and Julie Andrews.
3.The Last Lear (2007): A movie within a movie, the people involved in making the movie and their lives. Arjun Ramphal, Preity Zinta, Shefali Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan star in Rituparno Ghosh’s beautiful film.
4.Ekti Raat (1956): Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen’s night of confusion and mayhem.
5.Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah (1981): Shashi Kapoor+Vinod Khanna+Zarina Wahab+Neetu Singh=masala romp.
6. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998): Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee in Karan Johar’s romantic blockbuster.

Update 6 Jan 2009:
Hmm… Equal number of takers for both The Last Lear and Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah.
1. The Last Lear (29%)
2. Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah (29%)
3. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (20%)
4. Darling Lili (12%)
5. Ekti Raat (8%)
6. Faraar (4%)
Looks like I will have to make up my own mind after all! OK, The Last Lear coming up next and look out for the other films over the next few weeks. Fellow Shashi fans and masala lovers, do not despair. There is plenty of Shashilicious masala coming your way sooooon. In the meantime, enjoy Shashilicious eye candy in Beth’s Shashi-week celebrations

  2. Definitely #3. I read one scene in Filmfare, and that got me so impressed. Wanna watch it.
But can't resist Kuch Kuch too.....
Can't you put up both?? :-D

  5. I would like to hear about The Last Lear but I am also curious about your take on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai...I am sure your review on KKHH would be real fun to read. So, I'll vote for that! (I hope this polling helps and not that after all the votes are in you end up more confused than at the start!)

  6. Ek aur Ekk Gyaray, even if the cause seems rather hopeless. Mainly because I am curious about this one, and will not be able to watch it myself for some time.

  7. Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah masala is always fun

  8. Faraar looks really good! Can I cast multiple votes for that one too?

  9. The Last Lear, because it looks really interesting and I haven't seen it yet. Runner up: KKHH, since I'd like to hear a new POV on the film that's been analyzed to death.

  10. Me being what I am (mad about Rock Hudson!) Darling Lili, please... though at a pinch even Faraar will do - it was also called Dev Anand in Goa, wasn't it? I remember having seen on TV long back.

  11. I'm not familiar with any of them (at the moment), so just based of what you wrote on this post, I think you should write about these films in this order...

    1# Faraar
    2# The Last Lear
    3# Ekti Raat
    4# Darling Lili
    5# Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah
    6# Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

...inlcuding loads of screencaps, of course.

  12. Ek aur Ek Gyarah - more Shashi, please!

  13. Actually, I vote for Darling Lilli. I don't think I've ever read a review by a contemporary about that movie and it's been a while since I saw it.

  14. Thanks everybody for chipping in.

theBollywoodFan, Darshit, Nicki and ajnabi, The Last Lear review is up!

gebruss, bollywooddeewana and Anonymous#2 - Shashi-pyaar is never far from OiG! Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah will be up next.

Ruchi and Bhargav Saikia, I am surprised that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai lost to The Last Lear and Ek Aur Ekk Gyarah - its clearly not as popular as I thought! But it will get its turn, I promise.

Shweta, Richard and Anonymous #1, Faraar is pretty good though a bit disturbing (yes, Dev Anand in a serious film!). Will write it up soon...

dustedoff and Amrita, Darling Lili did not quite live up to the promise of its star cast but Rock Hudson+Julie Andrews is irrestible!

bawa, Ekti Raat was fun. I also have a ton of other Uttam-Suchitra movies in my to-watch pile. Once I am through, I'll aim for an Uttam-Suchitra movie fest!
